Since 2020, NDVS/SB has hosted virtual trainings for TSVIs about a variety of topics. These trainings serve as a way for vision professionals to connect with, learn from, and grow with their colleagues across the state and region. Some trainings are led by NDVS/SB staff, while other presenters are nationally renowned experts.

Summer Session #1 - Imagine Your Story: Everyday Heroes Living with Visual Impairments

Join Mrs. Williams and Ms. Stenberg as they help you "Imagine Your Story" and share inspirational stories about famous and not-so-famous heroes living with visual impairments. This video is intended for the students served by North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind.

How well do you know the white cane? In our 3rd virtual summer session,  Walk This Way: Put Your Cane Skills to the Test, Mrs. Williams and Ms. Stenberg share some fun facts about the white cane, and a special guest provides tips on getting around safely with and without a cane.

Summer Session #4 - Build a Creation: Accessible Legos

In our final virtual summer session for elementary students, Mrs. Williams and Ms. Stenberg share resources for all things LEGO: tips for building with LEGOS when visually impaired, where to find audio and braille instructions for LEGO kits, and why LEGO play is so important. They also offer plenty of inspiration for building your own creation! Parents/guardians and teachers are encouraged to participate in this session, as some resources provided are for them as well as their child/student.
