About the Week:
Our lessons and activities during the program will be focused around the book "Grumpy Monkey" published by National Braille Press (NBP). The book is part of their Great Expectations program. As stated on NBP’s website, “Great Expectations brings popular picture books to life using a multi-sensory approach — songs, tactile play, picture descriptions, body movement, engaged listening — all designed to promote active reading experiences for children with visual impairments.” This story is about EMOTIONS and activities will involve learning about ways to handle emotions. Activities will also include role-playing using various body language and facial expressions. We’ll have some outings and games about following directions (listening skills); team building and much more!
What to Bring:
Outdoor clothing/jacket; personal items – PJ’s, robe, toiletries; modest swimwear; small amount of spending money (around $10-$20); gym shoes; any over the counter medicines you may need such as Tylenol, and prescription medications. We will have PPE on hand as well.
